Maltipoo - a mix between a toy poodle and a purebred Maltese.

Maltipoos (aka Maltepoos, Malti-poos, and Maltidoodles) are a mix of a mini Poodle (or toy Poodle) and a purebred Maltese. Maltipoo puppies are usually great with children; they seldom meet strangers, and they love being with people. Maltipoos are known for being playful, funny, cute, and loving to snuggle and cuddle with their forever family.

(These advantages are typically the case but cannot be guaranteed to be true of each individual doodle puppy.)

  1. Healthier due to Maltipoo hybrid vigor

  2. Hypoallergenic Maltipoo Coat (especially true of f1b Maltipoos)

  3. Playful Maltipoo Personality

  4. Maltipoos are normally very friendly with kids

  5. Small breed (Maltipoos are one of the very smallest doodle breeds

Maltese are known for being loving, gentle, and loyal. They are also very social and are well-known lap dogs, and that personality often comes over into the Maltipoo. Miniature Poodles are more energetic and outgoing. They are also loving and make great watchdogs. Miniature Poodles are ranked one of the healthiest breeds in the world, often living to be over 16 years of age, and ranked as the second most intelligent dog breed in the world.

With this combination, the Maltipoo have incredible personalities. They are loving, trusting, intelligent and dependent. They want to be with you and are not a breed that’s known for aggression. They are extremely good with children and are very patient. They seldom bark, and they love to cuddle.

Maintenance for a Maltipoo will depend on the dog's exact coat type. The Maltese tend to shed more than Poodles, so a Maltipoo will be either low to non-shedding depending on whether it inherited its coat from the Maltese or Poodle sides. For the most part, the Maltipoo will require weekly brushing to ensure the coat remains free from knots and snags. Their coats do tend to tangle rather easily. A Maltipoo with a Poodle coat may need to be brushed more frequently. In addition, the toenails of the Maltipoo will need to be filed or clipped regularly. Several times per year, the coat of the Maltipoo will need to be trimmed.

Brown’s Babies Maltipoo colors vary from litter to litter, with our most common colors being White to Cream,  Apricot, Black, Black/white or White/Liver.

Below you will find more information on Browns Babies F1 and F1B Maltipoos

  • F1 Maltipoo: First Generation (F1) Maltipoos result from crossing a purebred Maltese with a purebred mini Poodle or toy Poodle. These F1 Maltipoos are 50% Maltese and 50% poodle.

  • F1B Maltipoo: First Generation Backcross (F1b) Maltipoos are the result of taking a First Generation (F1) Maltese (mentioned above) and crossing it back to a mini Poodle or Toy Poodle. F1b litters are primarily for those with severe allergies who want to be sure that their Maltipoo puppy has a non-shedding poodle coat. F1b Maltipoos are 25% Maltese and 75% Poodle.
