ADDITIONAL CAVAPOO INFO
Cavapoo - a mix between a poodle and a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Cavapoos are popular because of their incredibly loving temperaments, low shedding coats, hypoallergenic features and health. Cavapoo puppies are wonderful with children, they seldom meet a stranger and love being with people. They are some of the most calm of all doodle varieties. They seldom bark, and they love to cuddle.
(These advantages are typically the case, but cannot be guaranteed to be true of each individual doodle puppy.)
Healthier due to Cavapoo hybrid vigor
Calm and quiet Cavapoo Personality
Cavapoos are usually very friendly with kids
Small breed (Cavapoos are one of the smallest doodle breeds)
Cavaliers are known for being loving, gentle, and loyal. They are very social and are well known to be lap dogs. That personality often comes over into the Cavapoo. Miniature Poodles are more energetic and outgoing. They are also loving and make great watchdogs. Miniature Poodles are ranked one the healthiest breeds in the world living many times over 16 years of age and also ranked as the 2nd most intelligent dog breed in the world.
With this combination, the Cavapoos have incredible personalities. They are loving, trusting, intelligent and dependent. They want to be with you and are not a breed that’s known for aggression. They are extremely good with children and are very patient. They seldom bark, and they love to cuddle.
Maintenance for a Cavapoo will depend on the exact type of coat that the dog has. The Cavalier tends to shed more than Poodles, so a Cavapoo will be either low to non-shedding depending on whether it inherited its coat from the Cavalier side or the Poodle side. For the most part, the Cavapoo will require brushing on a weekly basis in order to ensure the coat remains free from knots and snags. Their coats do tend to tangle rather easily. A Cavapoo with a Poodle coat may need to be brushed on a more frequent basis. In addition, the toenails of the Cavapoo will need to be filed or clipped on a regular basis. Several times per year, the coat of the Cavapoo will need to be trimmed.
Brown’s Babies Cavapoo’s colors vary from litter to litter, with our most common colors being Red, Red/white. Occasionally Blenheim, Apricot, Cream, Tri-color, Black & Tan, and Black Cavapoos.
We specialize in breeding F1, F1b and Multi-generational Cavapoo puppies. Below you will find more information on the specifics of each type of Cavapoo.
F1 Cavapoos: First Generation (F1) Cavapoos are the resulting of crossing a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a purebred mini Poodle or toy Poodle. These F1 Cavapoos are 50% Cavalier and 50% poodle.
F1b Cavapoos: First Generation Backcross (F1b) Cavapoos take a First Generation (F1) Cavapoo (mentioned above) and cross it back to a mini Poodle or Toy Poodle. We have occasional F1b litters primarily for those with severe allergies, who want to be sure that their Cavapoo puppy has a non-shedding poodle coat. F1b Cavapoos are 25% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and 75% Poodle.
Multigenerational Cavapoos: Multigenerational Cavapoos (multigens for short) are Cavapoo puppies where both the mother and the father are Cavapoos. You can breed F1 Cavapoos to each other (non-related of course) and get Multigen Cavapoo puppies, sometimes referred to as F2, F1BB or F2BB Cavapoos.
